Ryan Habermeyer is the author of the novel Necronauts and the short story collections Salt Folk and The Science of Lost Futures. His award-winning stories and essays have appeared in Conjunctions, Alaska Quarterly Review, Boulevard, Copper Nickel, Massachusetts Review, DIAGRAM, and others. A Fulbright Scholar who has lived, taught, and studied in Poland, Scotland, Spain, Romania, and Mexico, he is an Associate Professor at Salisbury University.
John Bennion, who sets most of his writing in the western Utah desert, has published a collection of stories, Breeding Leah (Signature Books, 1991), and six novels—Falling Toward Heaven (Signature Books, 2000), An Unarmed Woman (Signature, 2019), Ezekiel’s Third Wife (Roundfire Books, 2019), Spin (By Common Consent Press, 2022), Ruth at the End of the Earth (BCC Press, 2023), and The Dead Fathers (BCC Press, 2025). He has published short stories and essays in Hotel Amerika, Southwest Review, High Country News, Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought, and others. In 2021, he retired from teaching creative writing at BYU.
